CTAN Markdown: Sections
The text can be separated into several sections. Section headings of order 1 to 6 are provided. They are started by an appropriate number of hash marks at the beginning of a line. All hash marks at the end of the line are silently ignored. They can even be omitted. The text in between is typeset as the text of the section.

There are two more idioms for marking sections of level 1 and 2. If You have a line starting with a letter which is underlined in the next line with at least three = then it is interpreted as section of level 1. The underlining with - is a section of level 2.
