The asmejour class is a template to format preprints in the style of journal papers published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. This update adds a single-column option and makes a variety of minor changes to the underlying code. The layout and reference formats of the asmejour.cls follow the style of published papers in 2024. Hyperlinks and pdf features are fully supported. The class includes a up-to-date BibTeX style, asmejour.bst, that supports online sources, URL and DOI fields, and generates current reference styles. This .bst can replace the old asmems4.bst.
The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/asmejour The package’s files themselves can be inspected at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/asmejour/

asmejour – A template for ASME journal papers

The asmejour class provides a template to format preprints submitted to ASME journals. The layout and reference formats closely follow the style that is currently being used for published papers.

The class is intended to be used with the asmejour.bst style, which is part of this distribution. Unlike older ASME templates, asmejour pdfs will contain hyperlinks, bookmarks, and metadata, and references can include the DOI and URL fields. Options include line numbering, final column balancing, various math options, government copyright, and archivability (PDF/A). The class is compatible with pdf or Lua.

This package is not a publication of ASME.
