CTAN update: HitType

Date: April 8, 2025 6:55:09 PM CEST
Jonathan Walls submitted an update to the HitType package. Version: 2.0 2025-04-07 License: lppl1.3c nocommercial Summary description: Typesetting Hittite cuneiform Announcement text:
This is a major revision to the HitType package, creating a new basic command structure which allows it to be safely incorporated into documents which also include the LuwianType package. It does away with the capitalized commands in favor of a simple parser that uses space- or stop-separated lowercase sign names which improves the typing experience, and allows for simpler sign naming conventions which align more closely with the Ullikummi font documentation. This new version has now also been officially validated with XeLaTeX besides LuaLaTeX, allowing for more users to benefit from its functionality.
This package is located at https://mirrors.ctan.org/fonts/hittype More information is at https://www.ctan.org/pkg/hittype
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Manfred Lotz CTAN is run entirely by volunteers and supported by TeX user groups. Please join a user group or donate to one, see https://ctan.org/lugs .

HitType – Typesetting Hittite cuneiform

This package allows for typing in Hittite cuneiform in documents, using relatively simple commands based on the Latin transcriptions of the various signs. It also includes some formatting commands designed to allow for easy formatting of heterographic compounds, as well as shorthands for symbols commonly used in transcriptions.

The UllikummiA.ttf, UllikummiB.ttf, and UllikummiC.ttf files comprise the Ullikummi Hittite cuneiform fonts developed by Dr Sylvie Vanséveren, distributed with written permission from Dr Vanséveren, available on Hethitologie Portal Mainz at https://www.hethport.uni-wuerzburg.de/cuneifont/.
