Summary description: Addition of alphabetical headers into BibTeX
'.bbl' files.
License type: gpl
Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
alphabib is a little Bash script allowing addition of alphabetical headers into BibTEX bibliographies. This may be usefull with large bibliographies so that to find entries quickly. It takes a bibliography file produced by BibTEX (file with extension '.bbl') as an input, and creates a new file with incorporated alphabetical headers. Those headers break the bibliography into bibliographic entry sets having the same initial. Each set is entitled with a header consisting of the initial letter corresponding to entries composing it. Note that this script is mostly intended for use with "alpha-like" BibTEX styles (e.g. alpha.bst).
See this package at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/biblio/bibtex/utils . alphabib – Add alphabetical headers into citations
AlphaBib is a bash script that adds alphabetical headers into BibTeX bibliographies; such headers can assist searching in a large list of citations. AlphaBib takes a bibliography produced by BibTeX (the .bbl file), and creates a new file with the alphabetic headers inserted.
