Date: July 27, 2018 3:08:13 PM CEST
Daniel Flipo submitted an update to the
lettrine
package.
Version number: 2.0
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: Typeset dropped capitals
Announcement text:
This is maintenance release, minor changes: -- The reference string \LettrineTestString has been changed from the full range of capitals to `EFTZ'; the former choice could result in slightly too small initials with fonts applying optical correction to capitals C, O, or Q; thanks to Dick Nickalls for noticing and reporting about this. For strict backward compatibility, please have a look at the end of lettrine.cfg. -- Informations about the targeted and final initial's height have been added to the .log file.
The package's Catalogue entry can be viewed at http://www.ctan.org/pkg/lettrine The package's files themselves can be inspected at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/lettrine

lettrine – Typeset dropped capitals
The lettrine package supports various dropped capitals styles, typically those described in the French typographic books. In particular, it has facilities for the paragraph text’s left edge to follow the outline of capitals that have a regular shape (such as “A” and “V”).
